Celebrating 25 Years of TJ’s Academy of Martial Arts!
This year marks 25 years since TJ’s Academy of Martial Arts first opened its doors in May 2000! From our beginnings at Brierley Hill Swimming Baths to The Wallows, Kingswinford and now our home at Swindon Community Centre, it's been an incredible journey.
A special moment in our history was in May 2000, when Trevor completed a training course in Toronto, Canada, with the legendary Vladimir Vasiliev. Over the years, his training has continued with some of the most respected names in Russian Martial Arts, including Mikhail Ryabko, A.A Kadochnikov, Vadim Starov and Dmitriy Skogorev. These experiences along with many visits to Russia.
We also look back on the incredible Summer Camps at Clee Hill and Manor Adventure, where students have not only developed their martial arts skills but also built friendships and unforgettable memories.
A huge thank you to every student, instructor and supporter who has been part of our journey. Here’s to many more years of training together!

Huge Congratulations to Shane!
A massive well done to Shane for achieving his Level 3 Black Belt!
This incredible achievement reflects not only Shane’s skill and dedication but also 20 years of loyalty to Trevor and the club. Shane is a true ambassador for Systema. He is reliable, honest and a shining example of what it means to be part of the club.

Remembering Nick Di Paolo – Two Years On
We honour and remember Nick Di Paolo, a pioneer who introduced Russian Martial Arts - Systema - to the UK.
Nick’s passion, dedication, and trailblazing spirit not only laid the foundation for Systema in the UK but also inspired countless students and martial artists.
The founder of Systema UK, the first instructor to invite the Russians to the UK for a seminar. Trevors friend and colleague.
His legacy lives on in every movement, every lesson, and every practitioner who shares his love for Systema. Let's take a moment to remember his contribution to martial arts and the incredible impact he made in our community.
Gone but never forgotten, Nick. Your spirit remains with us.
